COMPETITION NIGHT To be judged similar to a National/International Competition

27th November 2025 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 pm
This competition is  modelled after a real ”National or International Competition”. Three judges will be shown each Print or EDPI for nine seconds and each judge will award a score out of  ten points. The scores are then summed and the winner will be from the highest score. In case of more than one image with the same score, the judges will look at each image and make a decision to declare a winner.
 
There will be two competitions ie EDPI and Prints.
 
The EDPI will be as our normal competitions ie 1920 x 1080 pixels and no larger than 5Mb in size
 
Prints will be matted, Maximum mat size 16 x 20 inch, and maximum print size 12 x 16 inch. Minimum mat size 8 x 10 inch, and minimum print size 6 x 8 inch.
 
Each member can enter up to 5 EDPI and 5 Prints.
 
Members can submit any image, whether it has been in a previous competition or not.

 Judges will look for technical excellence (sharpness, lighting, composition), originality and creativity, storytelling, and consistent style. However, as they only have 9 seconds to evaluate your images,  initial IMPACT is very important.

You can upload a maximum of 4 files below. The width must be no longer than 1920px and the height no more than 1080px, e.g. it cannot be 1080 wide and 1920 high. Each image must include your Member ID, theme month and entry name, e.g. 45-1021-Flyingseagull.jpg. Do Not include any special characters in the file names. The exception is the use of the hyphen "-"

Shortly after submitting your entries you should receive the following message :-
"Thanks for your entries - this is confirmation that they have been uploaded to our site and received."
If this message is not received, contact the print steward.

Artificial Intelligence is a comparatively new and developing aspect of image creation. We assert that AI generated images are not photography and not in the spirit of our club’s ethos. As all elements of any of our internal and external competition entries must be captured by the author on camera, AI images contravene that basic rule. We trust members to not enter AI images. If necessary, we reserve the right to ask the member to provide original images, complete with metadata, if required by the Club.
