COMPETITION NIGHT – “Street Photography”

August 8 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

This competition follows on from our Street photography workshop by Adrian Whear.

“Street photography is defined as a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public. The very public nature of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge.”

Anyone is welcome to attend the evening, however only members may enter.

Maximum of 4 images per person, colour or black and white.

Dimensions for submitted images are unlimited. File size not to exceed 4mB. Colour space is to be sRGB and the image is to be in the jpeg format. Images should named like this: 01-1021-nameoffile.jpg, meaning: membership number – month and year – name of file.jpg.

If you don’t know how to resize your images please go to https://bulkresizephotos.com/en, upload your four images and then use the Image Dimensions option. This is a very useful tool. Tip: If you make your shortest side 1080px it generally means that the longest side ends up less than 1920px on the longest side.

Deadline for Entries Saturday 16th February 2024.

All entries must be submitted by the form below

Artificial Intelligence is a comparatively new and developing aspect of image creation. We assert that AI generated images are not photography and not in the spirit of our club’s ethos. As all elements of any of our internal and external competition entries must be captured by the author on camera, AI images contravene that basic rule. We trust members to not enter AI images. If necessary, we reserve the right to ask the member to provide original images, complete with metadata, if required by the Club.
