Our Guest Presenter is Barry Povey. In his words…
I am just an ordinary photographer influenced by many things.
From 1967 onwards, photography (and cameras) started to impinge and eat its way into my thinking and visions. Film cameras, slides and developing and printing black and white film.
In retirement, photography and the digital world have taken over but, in many ways, have been the glue that has tied so many other experiences together and keeps me thinking and seeing. It keeps me in contact with technology, social activities, abstract concepts and practical things like spending money and getting out and about.
Now, I think photography can be one of the most enjoyable activities.
I drift in and out of aspects of photography like colour, black and white, landscapes, seascapes, architecture, abstract, 360º images.
Tonight I will comment on black and white photography. Not original. Not so much the theoretical side but the practical side of dabbling in it. What and why!
